Uninstalling updatehelper.

I stupidly installed updatehelper on my computer that is not a sandy bridge. I then updated to 10.6.8. I have noticed a delay in boot up but otherwise everything is working the same. I was curious if this was because of my mistake. If so I was wondering if I could remove updatehelper and if this is causing the delay.

IIRC Update Helper only removed a couple of kexts that get replaced during the update....ACPI kexts come to mind.

I would suggest you boot in verbose mode to see if any kexts are taking a long time to load or are not loading at all....due to conflicts.

Tried it still no answer. It just seems to hang on in the desktop for 20-30 secs. more than it used to before I can click. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.
