Unibeast not working with recent version of Lion Installer?

Read here a short tutorial:

1. right click on the disk icon that popped up on the desktop when inserting the usb stick
2. selecting Get Info.
3. then uncheck the ignore permissions option
4. and also change the all users permissions to read & write.

P.S.
You may have to unlock the permissions settings before you can change them!
Hi!

I did try. I ended up with the same result. Thanks for passing that on though.

Have you tried a different USB stick?

What brand of stick?

You should have been able to install Lion using either method which is a surprise.

Something is not right on your end or hardware issue.

Hi Jester969

I've tried:

Patriot Xporter XT 16 GB
SD MMC
Seagate 320GB External Drive in a Toaster.

I've tried Unibeast 1, Unibeast 1.1, and the cpukid00 tutorial.

The only one that has worked half way is the cpukid00 tutorial.

When I use that, I can get to this kernel panic by either the Patriot USB thumbdrive, or the External Drive (I never tried the SD MMC):

I'm quite versed in the cpukid tutorial now... hehe.

Are there flags or something?
I checked the bios settings as well.
AHCI
S3(STR)
HPET = 64

I should mention that the Unibeast failure is consistent on both the thumbdrive and hdrive attempts.

Are you using a gfx card with your system>

Is it possible for your to re-download Lion in case of corruption?

Well I'm using a plain vanilla config:

i3-2105/GA-H61N-USB3
HD3000 onboard video

I'm actually on my third full download of lion.

I had attempted several unibeast writes with multiple lion images on my machine, but now I have only one... in the applications folder, just as unibeast directions require...

Are you using the HDMI/DVI port of the motherboard?

Yes, HDMI.
USB HDD /USB Thumbdrive NOT in USB3 port when I attempt.
8gb ram

I am at a lost. You seem to have the right settings but Unibeast should not be this hard.

I am stumped. :( Sorry. :(

EDIT: Try these suggestions here

Sorry for the bump but I don't suppose you found a fix for the original issue? I'm having a similar problem as well whereby unibeast creates the image in under 30 seconds yet when I browse the USB stick there is only ~2mb worth of folders and files. When I've done it in the past it's taken 10+ minutes to successfully create the boot disk.

I downloaded Lion via the app store last night and I've tried using both a number of different USB keys and USB hard drives as the boot device but with no success.

If it's of any help I still have an original copy/backup of Lion 10.7 burnt to a disc, how would I tell unibeast to use the backup image on disc instead of the App store copy?
