Unibeast hangs on "running package scripts"

Unibeast hangs on "running package scripts" and it's been about an hour and half at this point. It says that I only have about a minute remaining but nothing is happening. I have tried a few other methods like trying to install Snow Leopard first then upgrading to Lion but that didn't workout as I couldn't get Snow to install either. I am using the Unibeast + Lion on the USB method on and Ivy Bridge system and this is my first time build but so far it's been very frustrating as nothing is working as expected. I might have to accept that I'm going to just have a nice Windows machine.

Same issue, possible fix

I had the same issue...

It turns out that might USB thumbdrive literally died (it is not even recognizable now).

I used a external WD usb drive and it installed fine.

Try a different drive, perform a clean partition on it, and see if that helps.

When making my USB drive, Unibeast hangs at running package scripts and I can not work out why.... time has gone up to 6+ hours but I stopped it as the thumb drive was really heating up.

There is an Apple thread where people are complaining about terrible USB copy speeds (160KB/sec) in general... maybe this is the cause? There is some implication it has to do with bad handling of USB drive Sleep.

My UniBeast USB build took 45 minutes.

tailing /var/log/install.log made it easier to be patient..
