Hi,

I have my Lion install app (10.7) in my applications folder. I am using my MacBook Air to make a Unibeast Lion install USB

When making my USB drive, Unibeast hangs at running package scripts and I can not work out why.... time has gone up to 6+ hours but I stopped it as the thumb drive was really heating up.

How to fix please??

Don't sweat it, that time isn't accurate. Let it go for about 10-15 minutes and it should work just fine, I had the same problem!

Same thing with me. My unibeast installer is up to 25 hours and 18 minutes and just keeps going up. doesnt seem to be making any progress at all

EDIT - hmm looks now once I "inspected" the USB drive while Unibeast is still running it is ever so slowly starting to copy the files - hope this helps someone; perhaps it is a hardware issue with my BT keyboard receiver in the same USB hub? Unknown, but perhaps it will actually finish by this time tomorrow... Eeek! Hope this helps anyone else that is not a seasoned veteran with Unibeast.

Sorry for the dopy Windows/Linux user question, but,

Yes Unibeast freezes @ Installing Package Scripts forever.

It also both says all it will be putting on the USB drive is 10.5MB and that's all I saw later.

I could not even force Quit Unibeast and had to in the end perhaps rip the drive out - maybe I got OSX (running 10.6.4 now to Eject it, but...) On my inspection of the data I sure cannot find enough data to make up for more than the loader - not a nearly 3.5GB OSX Lion install...

So knowing all of this and that it has been two years since I last had installed this 10.6.4 version, if it is "A-OK" to ignore Unibeast because we are encountering a bug with it completing, how do I do that "properly?" Force Eject the USB drive from the desktop? Rip the drive out, what and can anyone enlighten me as to why I see no evidence of a big OSX install on the drive, or is that normal?

Many thanks for your patience. PS, my attempt a bit ago yielded me no more than a square Unix like cursor and no booting into Unibeast at all from the USB drive...

I'm running the same setup (MB air - OSX 10.7.3 Lion install in app folder 8gb USB drive formatted MacOSX and MBR 1 partition). It is now up to 18 hours of actual run time not the estimated time others think we mean. I did notice that when I open the usb drive I get some activity but it ends as soon as I stop moving around in the folder.

This is frustrating as no one seems to reply.

I'm about to look at other means as there is obviously something in the install sequence that is hosed.

Gave up and went to my SL Machine. Copied over the downloaded Lion install, reformatted and partitioned the USB - all the same way - and it worked. I did notice the progress bar actually worked instead of the spinning line. Seems there is something hinky with setting this up on a machine running lion.

I downloaded my app store purchase on my MB air because it would not let me do it on my SL Hackitosh. Anyway, this worked.

I could never build the USB stick on my Lion machine. I finally used an SL machine and copied the install app like you did. My installer ran for about 20 minutes, but displayed "less than one minute" the entire time.

Exact same thing with me. I tried it on my Lion MacBook Pro, stuck on the first like 25% for about 2 hours. Checked this forum, then went to my iMac still running SL, and did it again. Seeing that it shot up the first portion, I was elated. Then, it got stuck after the progress bar got to 95% and Running Package Scripts. It's been going for like 20min. I guess I will have to wait. I have a Kingston 8GB FD.

I'm seeing the same behavior. The first time I installed UniBeast on USB I was running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and install took 45 minutes. Now I'm trying after upgrading my MacBook Pro to Lion 10.7.3 and install hasn't finished in hours. That's why I'm checking forums. Installation apparently does not work when running 10.7.3. Anybody have success?

Just want to confirm that UniBeast installation to USB worked fine when I tried again on MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 after not working (runs for hours without finishing) on MacBook Pro running 10.7.3.

In the past when this happens, the only way I can get the installer to finish successfully is to delete the "Install Mac OS X Lion" application re-download a fresh copy. I have no idea why I have to do this.
