Unibeast Fails

Hi there.

I have issues with installing Unibeast. I have downloaded the App Store version, formatted my 8GB USB stick to OSX Journaled, 1 Partition MBR. I have also tried downloading Mavericks from the app store on another machine and it also fails.

This is the error I get:

UniBeast is crashing with a segmentation fault (signal 11). The cause for this could be either a hardware issue on the machine running UniBeast or a OS problem on that machine.

MacMan my installation is also failing:

“The installation failed.”


My procedure: Inserted NEW Patriot 8GB USB Thumb Drive. 7-Pass Erased. Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
After erasing, 1-Partition, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Options button: Master Boot Drive, …Apply.


Opened UniBeast 3.0.1, “Continue, Continue, Continue… Agree.” Select a Destination, Clicked on USB drive to get green down-pointing arrow. Continue, then Install button:


Watched installation start, (as it does with all Apple installations), “Writing files…”, “Moving items into place…” then a warning window:


“The installation failed.” … “There were errors, etc. … Contact Software Developer.”


After going through these steps several times, I tried with a different NEW USB drive, Sandisk 32GB Drive. (This time I also went to your web site and watch the YouTube video, (following along step-by-step). I know that I formatted my USB exactly as shown in video! (I even zoomed into your video to see Disk Utility better.)


Opened UniBeast 3.0.1, “Continue, Continue, Continue… Agree.” Select a Destination, Clicked on USB drive to get green down-pointing arrow. Continue, then Install button:


Watched installation start, “Writing files…”, “Moving items into place…” then a warning window:


“The installation failed.” … “There were errors, etc. … Contact Software Developer.”


FYI: I was logged on to my computer as Admin., I even downloaded another copy of UniBeast, (in case the first downloaded copy was corrupted), and tried again.



I repeated the above several times, following the video each time, no mistakes made! Same Result!
“The installation failed.”


Would you be so kind as to enlighten me of obviously my error; which eludes me…

Without following the instructions at http://www.tonymacx86.com/unibeast/85364-unibeast-failure-reporting.html you won't get much help. In addition threadjacking is frowned upon.

I will attempt the installation on another machine/installation to see if this work. Out of interest, should I see any problems running Unibeast on an existing Mavericks CustoMac install?
