Hi there,

This thread is nearly a repost of this one, after ten months. I installed a Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi/BT card in my Hackintosh last year to get Continuity and Handoff working, and since then it reboots itself after a shutdown. It also can't sleep, but proper shutdown is my priority. I became accustomed to shutting it down with a long press on the power switch just when it reboots, but I would love to find a permanent fix!
Other than that, the Hackintosh has been rock stable, and everything is working as expected. It has been happily running High Sierra, Mojave and now Catalina.

Referring to many threads around here, I've already tried a lot of things:
  • All USB ports are mapped in a SSDT file; both internal ports are marked as 255;
  • In config.plist:
    • with or without ACPI:FixShutdown=true and FixShutdown_0004=true
    • with or without ACPI:HaltEnabler=true
    • with or without Boot:slide=0
    • with or without: Boot:darkwake=no/0/1/2/3/4/8/10
  • In BIOS:
    • WoL disabled;
    • ErP enabled;
  • in EFI/Clover/drivers/UEFI:
    • EmuVariableUefi-64.efi
    • Either AptioMemoryFix-64.efi / OsxAptioFix / OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi / OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 and some more…
Nothing seem to help. I know the culprit is the Fenvi card, because when it's unplugged the Hackintosh happily shuts itself down and sleeps like a baby… I also noticed that the led on the card always stays on, even when the Hackintosh is off.

My Clover folder is attached, and I'll happily provide any log or files tat can help! Can anyone tell me how to turn the Fenvi card off? Thanks in advance!

Remove all kext in L/E and place EFI folder in your EFI partition and report back

Hi @dolgarrenan and thanks for your answer!
I emptied my L/E folder and replaced my EFI folder with yours. The Hackintosh booted fine (macOS disconnected me from iCloud, which was expected since the SMBIOS settings had changed), but it still reboots itself after shutdown, and still can't sleep. As far as I can see, no changes on that front, sadly.
What were you trying to do with those SMC related kexts?

I reverted back to my previous Clover install for the time being…

The sleep issue perhaps has no work around, many users report not having sleep working properly, but that is just a secondary issue since it won't affect how the computer performs, at least not to an extent.

Perhaps I would go around CMOs on your board and start from scratch.. Usually main issue towards not shutting down is USB related. Have you tried removing the SSDT and just using UsbInjectAll port limit patch for your OS version?

You could also try to start your computer with -v and see what the output is at shutting down.
Just start with -v debug=0x100 keepsyms=1, that should give a hint. Could also be a hardware related, a USB device (a drive or HDD) etc.

The reasoning behind using VirtualSMC suit is that the development is moving forward, FakeSMC is dead.. @RehabMan is no longer active (for some reason in the community) so we are missing on a big intellect to help out (he was also in charge of FakeSMC from @kozlek)

Yes. Actually I built the SSDT when I was first trying to solve that issue last year. I just removed it and set the Catalina patch for UsbInjectAll for he kicks, but nothing changes.

I just did that. Sorry for the noob question, now how can I find the log of my last shutdown and post it? I'm pretty sure it's related to the Fenvi card, though. It always stays on whenever he Hackintosh is plugged to the wall, and the Hackintosh shuts down fine whenever the card is removed.

Thanks for that bit of info! I just switched to VirtualSMC, and I got a lot more knowledgable today thanks to you and all the threads I read! ;)

Problem finally solved.
I ditched the Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi/BT card and replaced it with the cheaper Fenvi FV-HB1200. As I hoped, my Hackintosh once again shuts down fine and sleeps like a baby…

The culprit was the card who wouldn't turn off ; my kexts and drivers were fine.

That card looks great!
It is! No issues for the last 3 months. Works fine without specific drivers on Windows, too, if that matters.

That card looks great! How come I have not seen this on here? Ticks all the boxes for SSF desktop builds incl. low profile bracket, too! @trs96 maybe a good addition to your guides once proven?
It's been a part of my 9020 guide/build since posting it and was added to the Dell 7010/9010 guide too.
