Twitter videos in Safari freeze whole system in High Sierra 10.13.1

When I go to Twitter in Safari, everything works until a video autoplays on my timeline and freezes the entire computer (can't even move the mouse.) However, Youtube and Facebook videos are working fine. I'd like to get this working in Safari, because I've used it for so long and I don't want to switch to Chrome. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks!

Same problem here at Mojave randomly, using Apps like Twitterrific, Boxy for Twitter... I have to restart and this resolve the problem.
