Updated(12/21): It works with Chameleon and Chimera.
Updated(1/4/12): Typo
Updated(1/5/12): Works during first install
This Guide will correct the boot0 error.
This is the only method that worked for me to install Chameleon on a 4k drive.
My laptop is stock. No extra hard drives. if yours is the same, you will not need to make any changes to the commands. If it is different, use disktutil list to get your disk/partition locations.
Requirements:
unibeast usb stick
working lion install
usb keyboard
the Chameleon zip attached to this post
Part 1:
download and install Chimera from tonymacx86 download page
-or-
download and install Chameleon from osx86.net's boot loader page
-then-
Download the attached Chameleon zip, extract it to your desktop.
Put the i386 folder on your unibeast usb stick
shutdown
Part 2:
plug in a usb keyboard (right side usb ports only)
boot off of your unibeast usb stick (right side usb ports only)
select USB to boot into the lion install
Click continue
unplug your usb keyboard
Select Utilties, Disk Utility
Right click your Lion Partition, click unmount
Quit disk utility.
Select Utilties, Terminal
type: diskutil list
-write down your lion disk and partition. Stock will be be disk0 Partition 2
-write down your USB disk and partition. Stock will be disk1 Partition 1
Part 3:
Mounting the unibeast flash drive. On my system it was Disk 1 partition 1. If yours is different changes the bolded numbers.
mount_hfs /dev/disk1s1 /Volumes/USB
Change directory to the unibeast flash drive, and the i386 Chameleon folder
cd /Volumes/USB/i386
install Chameleon to disk 0, partition 2.
dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2
exit
shutdown your laptop
unplug usb stick
Your done!
