Total noob here trying to install Lion 10.7.3 on my Evga x58 sli motherboard. I have read many success stories here & tried to follow their instructions only to get what i assume is a kernal panic asking me to shut down. I have followed the instructions to use unibeast to make a bootable USB drive with the latest version of multibeast.

Here are my specs:
EVGA x58 sli 132 bl 758 with BIOS version 83
Intel i7 980x
Patriot 12GB 2000mhz ram
PNY gtx 580 video card
Intel X25-E SSD
LG blu ray burner

Do I need separate kexts & a DSDL to get it working ? If so how do I create the Extra/Extension directory? The latest version of Multibeast seems to have everything I already need. Since multibeast has been updated I dont know what settings to check & which to leave unchecked.

Many thanks
Craig

Have you tried the install with only 4 Gig RAM? I'm playing around with a similar EVGA board & made that error.

Keep us posted, okay?

Al

Before I read your response I was able to get Lion to run using Easybeast & lnx2mac network drivers with the 12gb of ram in. But it doesn't read my system right, my processor speed & ram speed are wrong. The audio & video aren't working either.

But at least it is a start to getting OSX running on this machine.

Thanks
Craig
