Trouble upgrading from Mojave to Catalina

I tried the upgrade to Catalina today from a stable Mojave on a B75 system that has really been quite good as far as installs and upgrades.

It went through the full 8gb download, then announced it was installing and it would be 35 minutes. When I came back it was at the normal
Mojave login screen, and logging in, we were still in Mojave, so somewhere I'm guessing it bailed out of the Cat install.

Anyone have a hint?

Have you got any volumes hidden from the boot menu? After the reboot you should see a volume in the boot menu with 'Install Catalina from Data........' or something to that effect. If it still fails see if there's a combo d/load and try that. Good luck.

Thanks, esa - turns out apparently I was not rebooting from the correct "install" section the 2nd or 3rd time... once I figured that out, it went just fine and works right out of the box. More dumbass from me... seems like I have an unlimited supply...
