Trouble drag-selecting text and taking screenshots on Logitech M705 Mouse

Hi All,

I'm starting a thread here as I originally had it in Graphics, but it was suggested to me that it may be an I/O issue, which I guess would go here? Let me know if I'm wrong.

This is by far the most frustrating issue I have with my computer and I'm really hoping that someone may be able to help since it's so pervasive.

I have a few issues with the behavior of my mouse, but most importantly, when I try and drag to select sections of text it almost never works the way that I want. Sometimes it goes in the wrong direction, sometimes it just stops dragging, most often when I release the mouse, whatever I've selected just gets unselected.

A huge part of my job revolves around editing text, so this adds a ton of frustration and slows my efficiency. ANY ideas are very welcome.

CPU: Intel 8700k
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2133 MhZ DDR4
Motherboard: Asus Prime Z-370a
OS: Catalina 10.5.4
Mouse: Logitech M705 Bluetooth

For some more info: I updated the firmware of the mouse's dongle and at first that seemed to help, but now it's back to its old ways. Really struggling here.
