Hey Guys,

So I'm planning my new PC, and I'm thinking forwards to my plans of triple-booting:

OS X Yosemite
Windows 8.1
Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic Unicorn)

And OS X is the hardest to work, compatibility-wise. So here is my build so far...

CPU: Intel i7-4790K
CPU Cooler: Swiftech H240-X
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A
RAM: Ripjaws X Series 16GB
SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB (seperated into 1TB for each OS)
GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming 4GB
Case: NZXT H440
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G2

I will be willing to change the SSD, HDD and PSU, if need be. Also, any tips for triple-booting for a newbie?

Thanks Guys for helping me out on this!

Your hardware can work although the Z97 chipset for using Intel Haswell refresh HD4600 graphics is not as yet supported by Apple. I expect this will be something probably fixed in the 10.10.1 update that Apple will hopefully make available before Christmas. You may need to use a GPU to install & run Yosemite until Apple make compatibility with this hardware publicly available.

There is more that can be read on this topic here:

Each operating system would be better on its own SSD or HDD.
