Transfer all my data

Thanks to my daughter's fiance, I now have a nice new working wonderful (almost stork's build) hackintosh. YAY - but.... Somehow I need to transfer all the data from my mac mini - prefs, settings, passwords, and so on ad nauseum.

HELP - please. How do I do a restore from a time machine back up?

I really need advice/suggestions. It is doing my head in to have a super dooper machine, and not be able to use it.
