Hello tonymac community,

many thanks first of all for all the great guides! I managed to get my system running 2 weeks ago with Sierra. The installation went pretty quickly and flawlessly and everything seems to be working fine. The only problem i'm having is the wifi connection.

I posted in an older thread on this topic, but since I don't know if I am having the exact same connection problem i am reposting now and hoping for help.

I've tried both PCI slots and also changing the router settings, but the connection only got more unstable. With the current settings it's at least kind of stable, but still very slow and sometimes temporarily almost offline.

This is the network report:
(hope you understand it in german)

In another thread i saw the signal/noise thing mentioned. With -70/-88 it's probably pretty bad. But the router is actually just in the next room, 1 wall and a couple of meters away. I never have connection issues with my macbook.

Any suggestions? Or other card recommendations? By now i am really open to invest in another card, if that was a realistic solution.

One more specific question:

I've seen the
Fenvi FV-T919 mentioned a couple of times. Sometimes working OOB, and others not quite.

Is there anyone here whod replace a TP-LINK Card with the Fenvi and got rid of connection problems?

Hi, i just got a TP-Link 4800 card. Mine works fine but it can only see channel 64 and under. I've patched the locale, but the country code field was empty. Could you tell me how you injected the country code? Thanks.

Hi Brebo, sorry, i forgot that. Updated now

Well, so I bought the fenvi fv-t919 and still have the same numbers:

Hackintosh Desktop is at 19/33, Macbook Pro meanwhile, is currently at 877/6, my 2007 Macbook 106/219

My download speed is around 0,65 - 1.5 Mb/s. I could cry..and the new card was 90 Euro at Amazon Germany..

Any Ideas? Please, I'd be thankful for every possibility!

Additional Info:

I did a new installation using this guide (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.200564/). But I had the same problems before with Mavericks.

I've had a couple of TP-Link wifi products. They were all crap.

I now have a:
ABWB 802,11 AC WI-FI + Bluetooth 4.0 PCI-Express (PCI-E) BCM94360CD Combo Karte für Hackintosh (Mac OS X) Flughafen Computer

This is seen as a real Apple WIFI/BT card, I did not have to install anything.
Combined with an Ubiquiti LR WIFI AP, my WIFI internet connection is as fast as my regular wired ethernet, 200 MBps down/20 Mbps up, which is exactly the BW I pay for.
Of course, backing up and file copying is still way faster via wired ethernet. Plus, wires are much more reliable.

Getting WIFI to behave well isn't easy. Moving your AP over, putting it up higher, reorientate the antenna's on your hack, that will al make a difference.
BTW, you have the antenna's properly screwed on, haven't you?

Hi zipb,

thank you for your reply!

The antennas are properly screwed on. I checked them again, and I had the exact same speed problem with the card before. The antennas were definitely tight :)

It's just confusing that the wifi with this Fenvi Card seems to working for everyone without problems but i get the exact same speed problems that I had with the TP-LINK card before

I might really go with a cable..if I can drill a hole through the wall...

Hey, have you tried plugging the wifi card into x4, x8 or x16 pcie slots? I see you're using iGPU so these slots must be available.

edit:

hi vk3a, this is amazing, thank you!!!! I plugged it in the x16 slot and for now the download is averaging 14MB/s (compared to 1MB/s yesterday!) I can't believe it! Hope it will stay like this :)
