If you need DDR3 1600 ram for an older build, Ivy Bridge or Haswell, this is the time to stock up and upgrade.
Brand new ram so you have return rights and don't have to deal with buying used on Ebay.

A 16GB DDR3L 1600 MHz Ram kit from Timetec for just $45 ! Apple uses the exact same ram in Macs.
Compare this price to what Apple currently charges for upgrading a Mac to 16GB.

Here's what Apple charges to upgrade the 2018 Mac mini to 16 or 32GB of ram.
I'd much rather pay $45 or $90 instead of $200 or even $600 ! Who would pay Apple
$510 more for just 32GB of ram ? This is why the M1 Macs no longer let the end user upgrade it.

Why doesn't the 32GB upgrade cost $400 ? Makes no sense. Is it more labor intensive to install a 32GB kit compared to 16GB ? The 16GB DIMMs shouldn't cost that much more than the 8GB DIMMs do.

I have used Timetec RAM in all the iMac and MacBook Pro upgrades I have undertaken for myself and others.

In the UK the same SODIMM DDR3 1600MHz 16GB kit costs £52 from Amazon.

That's over 64 USD so this is a pretty good discount.

Price has come down by around 10% in the UK over the last 6 months, as the last 16GB kit cost me £57 in October 2021.
