Time Machine issues

So Lion is finally sorted out on my system and everything is working now. One problem I'm having is that Time Machine no longer lists my external hard, that I used in SL as a possible restore option? I'm trying to migrate my stuff from this particular external hard drive with all my apps, docs, etc to lion, but when I select restore from a time machine backup, the list just has my internal hard drives, what could be wrong? Can I just copy over the apps to the current lion drive? or will some of them break? TIA

The drive shows up in the left column when not in time machine under devices, right?
