Thunderbolt extension cable

Hello everyone, I am doing a built in desk pc. I am using type c extension cord to plug into to the thunderbolt ports of my z590 vision d. They are 6ft long. I am not using them for thunderbolt devices, just for regular type c external hard drives and charging my phone. When I plug in my hard drive, it doesn’t show up on my hackintosh, but my phone does. However when I plug the external type c hard drive into the thunderbolt port itself, it works. I also tried it on a MacBook and the extension cable worked. This is the cord I am using :
