hi guys,

I'm getting a T410s next week and wanted to know if it's possible to install Yosemite on it.
I saw a few Maverick installs and was anxious to know why noone posted about the current MacOS version yet.

best wishes,

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

hi thanks for the replies and sorry for my late answer.
let's say I have the option to buy this one next week and I'm about 80% sure I'll do it.

the specs of the T410s:

CPU: i5 M520
GPU: Intel HD Graphics (IGP)
Display: 14.1" WXGA+ (1440 x 900)

As someone already stated I'm not able to provide further details as I haven't got the laptop yet.
so even bootloader is the standard one.

thanks so far and best wishes

I don't think it is a very good choice. It is an old laptop with barely supported graphics.

If you want to read about the process for that graphics chip: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/

It would be hard to recommend anything older than Sandy Bridge (HD3000). And you really should consider something that is Ivy (HD4000).

okay thanks for that info.
overall it's a pretty good laptop especially the keyboard.
but I got your point about not being the best hackintosh choice.

I'll have to try and convince a friend of mine to sell his HP 4530s to me
