for those who are getting the message "There is no keyboard connected to your computer" on OSX Lion just try plugging in a usb mouse and that should enable your keyboard.

you can also just install the ps/2 driver under customize :)

This did not work for me. I suspect that's because my laptop's entire USB hub isn't functional; -v reveals many failures to load kexts, though somehow the system still boots to the "no keyboard" screen.

Laptop:
Acer Aspire TimelineX 4830TG-6450
Insyde Bios 1.07 10/25/2011
Core i5 2430M
Intel HD 3000 Graphics
Nvidia GT540 (lost cause, I know)
HM65 Chipset
8GB DDR3
Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_1083&SUBSYS_054F1025&REV_C0
Network Adapter Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0082&SUBSYS_13018086&REV_34
ELAN PS/2 Trackpad
Renesas USB 3 Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0082&SUBSYS_13018086&REV_34

Any ideas as to how I can go about troubleshooting? I installed via UniBeast USB, which recognized my USB hub and onboard keyboard, though not the trackpad. I have a Lion VM that I used to try installing the USB and PS/2 kexts in MultiBeast, but no luck there either.

When I click "Customize" in the installer, I get an empty list. How do you get drivers on the list?

Thank you for your time!

boot to ur system with -s

type "/sbin/mount -uw /" [enter]
sudo pico /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup\ Assistant.app/Contents/Info.plist
scroll down until u find
<string>DeviceSection</string>
<string>KeyboardTypeSection</string>
delete these two sections with backspace and press ctrl+O [enter] ctrl+x [enter]

shutdown -r now [enter]

This worked perfectly, I can continue with the setup and boot to desktop. The other devices still don't work, but that's for another thread.

Thanks!

For some very strange reason, I don't have the above 'CoreServices/Setup' bla bla on my USB. (I used Unibeast)

Now what Do I do?

You have to search for it in your system hd, where Lion is installed.
