Hi all -

I just spent the afternoon putting together my first hackintosh and just now started it up and I am having trouble knowing what to do to solve this.

I have the Gigabyte Z68XP-UD5 Motherboard and when I turn it on to boot I get the BIOS screen and then I get a bunch of garbage scrolling at the top and it locks up.

I'm not sure really what to do at this point. I've already taken out everything but the minimum to see if it was a conflict of some sorts, but nothing helped. Does this look like a bad graphics card? It's brand new.

If anyone has any tips to help me troubleshoot that I would be utterly grateful.

My setup:

- Intel Core i7-2700K
- Gigabyte Z68XP-UD5 Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM
- GIGABYTE ATI Radeon HD6850
- Corsair Carbide Series 400R Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler
- Crucial 256 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive - (Boot Drive)
- Western Digital Caviar Black 2 TB SATA
- Sony DVD-RW Drive
- Corsair Professional Series 650-Watt.

In BIOS, there is an option labeled Full Screen Logo --Enabled.
Change this to Disabled, save and exit, reboot.
You can now see where the post stops/hangs. Take a pic and post it.

Are you trying to install Lion UniBeast or iBoot+Snow Leopard Retail DVD?

The problem is that I can't get into the BIOS. It locks up immediately. It looks like I have some sort of CPU overloading going on. I looked at the light readout and that is what the manual says.

I found the exact same problem in another forum. I hope I can post a link to that. Let me know if that is not allowed and ill take it down:

Any idea why my CPU load is so high?

Just an update that it turns out that my motherboards bios was F1. I updated to the latest and now it seems to be working. Installing Windows now. Fingers crossed!
