System Profiler and Identification (Apps Store and more)

I'm wondering where my hack is getting the information what I am (meaning for example the information which can be seen if I call my System Profiler). At this moment I read I am an iMac from summer 2001, however if I read the file /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist it shows a MacPro 3,1:CurrentSet. I searched the HD with System data included but nowhere any iMac 2001. This is causing the App Store to refuse downloading Mavericks or Mountain Lion for example because it says my Mac is not compatible.

Anyone knows all places where this information is deposited?

If You use Chameleon or Chimera bootloader, use Chameleon Wizard and configure your model.



If it is Clover, do that with Clover Configurator.
