system definition change won't work

I'm trying to update from El Captain to Sierra. To do so I must change the system definition from 3,1 to 14,2. Strangely enough even after doing this in MultiBeast my Mac still shows as early 2008. Not sure why.

Mount your EFI partition and check the config.plist. Also check you main partition and see if there is an EFI or EFI Backups folder. If there is a backup folder it may contain the old definition. Remove it and replace with new config.
