Symlinks, Users Directory and Permissions.. Then subsequent problems..

I would like to apologize for my comments on your thread and wish you all the best on your fresh install!

That is not really a benefit. If your data was not in the user folder to begin with you would never had needed such a setup. Also you claim to have the ability to format the main OS partition and simple point the new user to the existing folder on that 'Data' partition but it doesn't always work so easy due to permission errors.

Yeah, I'm all for minimising risk!

I'm just going to keep doing what I was doing (before symlinks and moving users directory) with small changes to where things get downloaded and the like..
