Switching to gtx 970 from HD530

I actually intended to wait for pascal support, but I just decided to buy a gtx 970 instead, just for the time being.
My MSI GTX 970 is currently on it's way.

I'm wondering: is it possible to switch from HD530 to GTX 970 without doing a complete reinstallation of my Hackintosh? I have seen the guides on how to set up maxwell cards, but they always start from scratch. How would I go about switching from hd530 to the 970 without doing a reinstallation? Any tips?

You don't need to do a reinstall.

Install the correct Nvidia Web Drivers and enable them in your config. Shut down and install the card. Boot into bios and change the primary graphics from IGP to PEG, disable the IGP. Proceed with the boot. If everything worked properly it should work, if not then see the troubleshooting stickies.

I did this, it worked after solving the black screen issue. Thanks for your help
