I currently have a really nice PC build but my motherboard is horrible and incompatible with OS X, my current build spec are:

CPU: Intel Core i7 860
RAM: 10.0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3
Motherboard: MSI IONA
Graphics: ATI Sapphire HD 5770
Hard Drives: 1x 2TB Seagate ST32000542AS, 3x 1.5TB Western Digital WDC WD15EADS-65P8B0
Optical Drives: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-216D, HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CH10L

I'm wanting to switch the motherboard to a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R.
With the change of motherboard, would this build possibly be compatible with OS X?

Thanks, I noticed this earlier and decided to look at the Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 instead.

or this one GA-P55M-UD2 from TONY's build. You will benefit from extra DSDT edit which Tony had done nicely for this board. it also has firewire.

Sadly Amazon (UK) don't sell that and other places say it's discontinued..

look at the dsdt database, find any p55 board and try and get it used on ebay.

or sell your current board and cpu, and go for a sandy bridge bundle.

no point paying for a new 1156 board nowadays when sandy bridge is the same price.
would be crazy.

Might just go buy a Mac Pro otherwise, less hassle. I'll go look through the DSDT database and see what I can find. Other than the motherboard, would it work?
