iBoot 2.7 burnt to CD
MultiBeast 3.3 on USB stick
10.6.3 Retail Snow Leopard (10.6.0 won't work)
10.6.6 combo updater on USB stick

Boot from iBoot
Install 10.6.3
Watch welcome video
Install 10.6.6 combo, don't reboot
MultiBeast options:
* EasyBeast
* Normal Chameleon bootloader (the top one in the list)
* FakeSMC
* 32 bit Apple boot screen
* VoodooPS2 mouse and keyboard
* System tasks reboot/repair

Reboots back just fine, but with no audio.
Run MultiBeast again to install latest VoodooHDA. Kernel Panics but then reboot and audio works.

The wireless card is some Intel thing that won't work, so I replaced it with a Dell 1390.

The LAN chip is a Marvell Yukon 88E8040T, I installed the kext from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofive ... 67169.html

Neither LAN nor Wifi worked until I installed IOPCIFamily from http://www.mediafire.com/?5vifkyljzgk

I also installed IOPCMCIA family and BroadcomFix, but I'm not sure if that did anything...

LAN and Wifi both now work !!!

I also installed VoodooBattery to get the battery indicator working.

http://code.google.com/p/xnu-sleep-enab ... 10.6.x.zip seems to have sleep working somewhat... I haven't installed that NullCPU though, just left it as it came. Sleep from menu seems to work though.

Not tested: SD card reader or Firewire.

Full graphics acceleration.

Running nicely now.

Re: [PARTIAL SUCCESS] Toshiba Equium U400-124 (no LAN/wireless)

I realized I probably made a mistake installing AppleYukon2.kext with KextBeast.

So I tried copying it instead to the Plugins folder of IONetworkingFamily, and then getting Multibeast to repair and rebuild.

Still no joy :(

Getting nowhere with this...

Installed PCIUtils to probe the PCI subsystem

lspci shows this...

Which I think means the PCIPrimaryMatch in AppleYukon2.kext's Info.plist should be 0x435511ab - which it is.

So I have no idea why this isn't working.

Help!

Re: [PARTIAL SUCCESS] Toshiba Equium U400-124 (no LAN/wireless)

Wifi Update:

Using a Dell 1390 card purchased from eBay, I had to install this amendment to IOPCIFamily

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... pic=183356

During this experimentation I also installed BroadcomFix and the fix for IOPCMCIAFamily, but I don't know whether they were necessary or not. It was the IOPCIFamily thing that seemed to bring Wifi to life.

Just onboard LAN needs fixing now, and it's basically a succesful install.

Power functions are still a bit odd. Sometimes they work, sometimes the laptop needs to be forced to switch off by holding the power button. This isn't a big deal for me though.

Haven't really played with sleep/wake properly yet either.
