Hello.

Since I need Xcode, but Apple has stopped supporting my macbook (15" late 2013), I gave hackintosh a try on my PC.
It's my first hackintosh ever :)
At first I went for a luck with a ready-made EFI that I found somewhere on forums, but no go (furthest I made was being stuck on russian installation language :D and a bunch of freezes).
So I got myself a strong coffee and started up from scratch, step by step with openCore docs - managed to get Monterey installed and running smoothly at first try - it's not that difficult as it seems!

Big thanks to the community, as I found the contents here to be very helpful in debugging!

What does not work:

Overclock:
I use the XMP option for RAM.

(EFI includes everything except SMBIOS data in config.plist)

The performance of this should be much better than the old and slow 2013 MBP.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Indeed! Almost forgotten how enjoyable MacOS can be when running smoothly :D

This "Philiaso's" solution did not work for me, but found another ready made EFI folder solution at
Added 5700 XT with boot arg ....... agdpmod=pikera
Updated myselt to latest OC too.
Works like charm with Monterey 12.4

Philiasso, I am thinking about getting an MSI Z490 Tomahawk and using the EFI you shared to create my next (and probably my last?) Hackintosh. I’ve never been able to figure out how to get Big Sur or Monterey to work with my current hardware.

Do you have any advice to offer? Have you had much trouble with OS updates? Is 12.4 working for you?

Why did you go with MSI ?
