So the man purpose of this rig is just something to keep me going while I am getting ready for a MacBook Pro. I do need mobility down the road, but, working in IT, I have learnt to hate Windows with a passion. I have had this machine running Windows for about 12 months, and, after revisiting the forums, I thought I'd would give it a shot. This build is NOT completed as yet, I have just moved, and I'm using 3 small IKEA coffee tables as my desk right now so a few things have not been tested.

Please note I come from the old days. My first and only build was back in 2011. It was finally retired in 2015. It never skipped a beat. I don't "follow" A lot of the things done these days with hackintoshs. It took me ages just to figure out how I needed to mount the EFI partition and copy over the USB EFI. So please be gentle

For BIOS settings I followed this guide here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-z370-aorus-gaming-5-gtx-1050.261070/

Creation of the USB was from here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ojave-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.259381/

Install was a breeze and everything worked as it should.

After install and much searching, I used EFI Mounter to mount the EFI partition and copy the EFI from the USB to the boot drive. Then, I had a bootable NVMe. I went back into the BIOS and changed the boot order to boot into macOS.

Surprisingly, the GPU worked OOB with the correct RAM showing, and the Ultrawide is connect vis HDMI.

However, that's where I had to end the night as it was 3 am, and work was just around the corner. I'll be updating more over the weekend.

Current list of things to complete/check:
- USB 3 (have no clue what drivers to install);
- iMessage and FaceTtime (I have watched and read much I got this one);
- Audio (not important right now as I have no speakers, yet);
- Sleep/wake is not really important to me as I have always just powered down my machine, but, if someone would like to point me to the solution, I can give it a whirl

Thank you for this. I'm going to be doing a second build with almost the exact same specs so I'll be following your build. Did you have to use MultiBeast at all?

For the Ethernet drivers, yes, and probably for the USB and audio. On reboots before you get the EFI partition and Clover running, as you get to the bootloader make sure for the ATI card on this motherboard, go into options and inject the ATI driver as mine kept failing to boot without it for some reason.

Because this was a Windows machine before hand, I managed to just clone my Windows drive to a standard SATA SSD and just tested dual boot. It works like a treat.

UPDATE

I was having major issues with the machine. I would get into the macOS, and it would just freeze if I did anything graphic related.

I managed to update to 10.14.1 directly, and all the issues melted away.

Still having to work on the USB 3 at the moment.

Hi Meltdown,

I have the same motherboard with you. The USB 3 can be fixed by adding patches in Kernel and kext patches in the clover configurator with USBinject kext and XCI-200 kext.

I used the same methods as yours to install 10.14.2. Everything seems work except the audio (nothing shows up in the sound setting, only have the disport port to my monitor audio) and ethernet (no ethernet shows up in the network setting). I am using newest AppleALC.kext, Lilu.kext and AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext in my Other folders. Can you let me know do you have the same problem?
