This post is made to show that it is / can be very simple to connect a 4K monitor to OSX 10.10.4. What I did:

Hardware: Dell P2415Q monitor, EVGA GTX750 video card.
Preparations: backed up pc and duplicated the file org.chameleon.Boot.plist (which proved to be useful)
Changed in that file ‘GraphicsEnabler=Yes’ to ‘GraphicsEnabler=No’.
Shut down pc and exchanged video card, connect via DisplayPort.
Start pc and manually enter ‘nv_disable=1’ on command line, since this is used only once.
Download and install the NVidia webdrivers. Reboot and select the web drivers in the nvidia driver manager application. Reboot again, and ... wow, this looks good!
Then edit org.chameleon.Boot.plist, since the nvidia installer replaced this file contents with only ‘nvda_drv=1’.

Everything is working well, e.g. sleep, resume from sleep. No black screens, no power cycles.

I'd like to know if a typical Ultra HD / 4K television in the 40-43" range would work well if I wanted a huge computer display that would cost about $1,000. I know they don't have displayport connections, but I would be happy with 2560x1600@60Hz using HDMI which would be an improvement over 1920×1080 on a standard HD TV.
