Installation Notes - additional hints
I mostly followed the easy (Thanks tonymac) instructions at http://www.tonymacx86.com/61-unibeast-install-os-x-mountain-lion-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

A) assembly of hardware ... proc, mem, board, cables, discs etc. -- important: did not assemble GT640 at the beginning; instead used built in HD 4000 which comes with the i7 3770K; so I added GT 640 in step (G) as my dual monitor card

B) Created the USB BOOT stick with UniBeast on my legacy Snow Leopard hackintosh - made two bootable partitions on one 16GB USB 3.0 stick with "Mountain Lion (Multibeast Desktop option)" and "Mountain Lion (Multibeast Laptop option)" - so I could boot and choose between both options, just in case

C) Updated GA-Z77X-UD5H BIOS from F7 to F14 (Gigabyte version 2012/08/13) - placed BIOS on USB stick - Q-Flash from USB stick

D) booted my Hackintosh from USB stick and made a clean install on my SSD (Sandata 480GB, 2,5"), which showed 500/550 read/write; next I added two Seagate Barracuda 2GB 7200 RPM each as RAID-0 (Software) with disc utility - performance for read/write is 240/270 MBit/s with this software based RAID-0

E) after installation there was OOTB:
- GC 4000 ok, network ok, SSD ok, 2x hard discs ok, RAID ok
- audio didnt work

F) Used MultiBeast with this configuration

G) then I did a shutdown, now added the GT 640 and rebooted my system the only time

H) system started in 5 sec from my Sandata SSD :) :) :)
(without GT 640 the GC-4000 takes 25 secs to start)

I) post installation BIOS configuration: NO WAKE on LAN - important, because system would restart with every ping on my LAN

J) further issues: CPU appears with 3.5 GHz, RAM appears with 1.333 MHz though being 1.600 MHz

Solution:
a) BIOS setup, then M.I.T. advanced frequency settings => add (+/-) the CPU speed from 35 stepwise up to 42;
b) +/- memory from 1333 up to 1600 (memory speed 1800 leads to beeps during boot and BIOS "kindly" asks you to change values)

result: my 32-bit geekbench changed from 12.300 ( 3,5 GHz and 1333 MHz) ) to 14.100 ( 4,2GHz and 1600 MHz )

K) additional hardware:
- Apple Trackpad + Bluetooth works OOTB
- Saffire Pro 14 Audio Adapter (firewire based) works after installing custom driver from focusrite webpage

CHEERS -- THANK YOU VERY MUCH tonymacx86 !!!!

Perfect! You saved my life :) Only one question: can you boot without your USB boot stick? I always got the boot0 error so far, but haven't tried it after I've followed your instructions. I will check it now! Thanks again.

[SUCCESS] i7 3770K, GA-Z77x-UD5H, 16GB, 480GB SSD, RAID-0 2x2 TB, Geforce GT640

added a cheap bluetooth dongle 4.0 and Apple Trackpad today; works like a charm :)

also dismounted all hard discs added a second SSD and installed Win7; afterwards I remounted Mac-SSD and HD's and positioned Mac-SSD (with Mountain Lion) on first position in boot priority; so I can switch between Mac/Win either in BIOS (F12 key while booting) or by choosing hard disc while Chimera starts up

everything is so simple to install and runs ... I am absolutely thrilled !!!

You have to write the Bootloader (Chimera) onto your root partition. This is done with MultiBeast. UniBeast is the tool for creating the bootable MountainLion USB stick. After installing MountainLion and while being up with Mac OS for the first time, you must use MultiBeast to toggle your settings (Audio etc.) and write the bootloader. Elsewhile you need to insert the USB stick to boot from your hard disc.

Of course you can boot from USB stick, but it easier to use Multibeast and create the bootloader and startup Mac in seconds.

Thanks Stork !
I've read somewhere that Apple advices to use boot discs that are smaller than one TB.

Bocee: Maybe this error show up because of your hard discs > 1 TB ?
If the solution that Stork forwarded us to won't work, have you got a different hard disc to install your boot partition onto ?

Thanks for info on the memory

If you use the ssd as the boot drive how do you get all the files and downloads to automatically go to the hdd? when i hooked my 1tb drive up it is just like a external drive nothing goes strait to it.

It depends on your appliction settings.
In Firefox for example you can redirect the download manager to a different place. Same goes with FinalCutProX and all the other software packages, where you can tweak the settings (download location etc.).

Another option is to use links ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ln_(Unix) ).

ohh okey so there is no way to move the "user" where desktop, documents, downloads ect are located, over to the hdd you just gotta create new files on the hdd and quit using the ssd?

what about an application like iTunes, i haven't set it up yet but i wonder if i can redirect the media from library to the hdd.

thanks for the info very helpful

I'd suggest to give that symbolic link a try.
