[SUCCESS] Guide to installing 10.9.2 with GA-X79-UD5, intel 3930K & GTX670

Hi Guys,

After sitting on 10.8.2 for almost a year I decided it was time to make the move to Mavericks.
As usual I was reluctant and had forgotten most of my install settings and several updates have since been done to MultiBeast.

With a few hours of frustration I eventually got everything 100% and it's really not that hard if you do things correctly and in the right order.

I recorded my settings and process step by step for myself if I ever have to start from scratch again so I figured why not share it with anyone who is interested and has similar hardware.

Hack Pro Setup for OSX Mavericks 10.9.2
(current for Feb.27, 2014)

This setup uses UniBeast 3.0.1 and MultiBeast 6.1.0

1. Set up UniBeast USB with OSX 10.9.0 from app store

2. Repair permission on drive to be installed on

3. Restart and boot to USB

3a. Use the following boot flags to get into the Mavericks installer:

-v –x GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x2000 (in order, no commas just spaces)

4. Install Mavericks and reboot to USB again

4a. Select Mavericks installations and boot with the same flags as before:

-v –x GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x2000 (in order, no commas just spaces)

5. Should boot successfully to Mavericks, once in Mavericks run MultiBeast from the UniBeast USB with the following settings:

• Quick Start>EasyBeast
• Drivers>Audio>Realtek>Without DSDT>ALC898
• Drivers>Disk>3rd Party Sata (default)
• Drivers>Disk>Trim Enabler
• Drivers>Network>Intel – hnak’s AppleIntelE1000e
• Drivers>System>AppleACPIPlatform Rollback>10.8.1 Rollback
• Customize>SSDT Options> Sandy Bridge Core i7 Overclocked
• Customize>System Definitions>Mac Pro>Mac Pro 5,1

Build and install.

6. Open up /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist and copy/paste this:

7. Save + Quit.
8. Repair Disk Permissions.
9. Reboot as normal. BAM! OSX 10.9.0 is ready to rock!

How to update to 10.9.2 and almost any non-major update:

1. Repair Disk Permissions
2. Backup/Clone Drive
3. Download combo update from tonymacx86.com
4. Install Software Update as normal
5. Reboot as normal
6. Run MultiBeast from USB and select only:
• Drivers>Audio>Realtek>Without DSDT>ALC898
• Drivers>Disk>Trim Enabler
7. Reboot as normal and repair permissions. DONE.

I wish it was that easy for me -

I've been on 10.8.2 since that came out on my setup similar to yours except with GA-X79-UP4 updated to 10.9.1 pretty easily.
But 10.9.2 just doesn't want to work.

I tried using Unibeast and that wouldn't boot with any bootflag sequence i used

Finally i just went back to 10.9.1 until someone works it out

After the reboot of the 10.9.2 update, the apple logo work infinitely...

I become crazy
