The machine is being used mainly for photo/video editing of Raw footage. So the target is to match base Mac Pro. I already have an old ASUS case/500W power supply which I can't even find the name of them...

Installation

For installation I mainly followed jbarnette's Build with a little tweaks:
1. Mojave won't install and stuck at "About 13 minutes remaining"
Solution: According to @CaseySJ and @poles, instructions are here:

2. I use NoVPAjpeg.kext to solve preview crash issues.

3. USB SSDT:
Follow @RehabMan's thread: for Z390 M Gaming, 6 USB2/3/C ports on MB, which are HS01-06, SS01-06; Bluetooth is HS10; another USB header is used for my old case which has two USB2 in front, HS11 and HS12. Total of 15 ports. SSDT_USB.aml is attached for reference.

What works:
Everything as far as I've tested.

What doesn't work:
Can't seem to overclock in BIOS: no * seen in BIOS section. I thought Z390 support overclock. I only use 8pin 12V, not 4pin 12V due to the fact that power cables are super tight.
Thank you everyone on the forum.

Congrats on the new build!

Re: OC I have the same MB and i5-9600k CPU, the BIOS OC functionalities all work fine (CPU core clock, voltage, XMP etc.). Me too used only 8pin 12V and ignored the other 4pin 12V. I don't think that's causing your no-OC issue since 8pin should be more than enough to start with (mine draws 150W+ easily)

Are you using the latest BIOS firmware?

Hey I just checked I'm using F6 and here's what's showing on mine - not sure what is the '*' you are referring to. I just type 50 and hit Enter to modify the value in this (or any other modifiable) row. Hope this helps.

I see. I saw the '*' on some other threads using Gigabyte MB and I thought that's the indicator of OC enabled.
I'll give a try, if doesn't work, I will try downgrade to F6. Thank you!

Can you upload your EFI partition? I have almost the same H/W but my sound does not work with AppleALC.

I don't have the machine at my hand but you can refer to jbarnette's Build as I mentioned in the original post:
