After my Mini Deluxe build (i5, GA-H77N-Wifi, nVidia GT640) got too flaky (shutdown issues) then finally refused to book properly, I figured it was time to upgrade the 3 year old machine...
Chose the March 2016 mATX build for value & proven/popular build.
i7 4790K
Gigabyte GA-Z97M-D3H
Palit GeForce GTX750
IOGear Bluetooth 4.0 USB dongle
OCZ 250GB SSD (system & apps)
1 TB 7200rpm HDD (x2) for work
32GB Crucial 1600mhz memory
Fractal Design case (from last build)
Corsair 450w modular power (from last build)
Initial install seemed to go well - but I obviously messed up somewhere & got a box that wouldn't boot from anything...
Reset CMOS and try again!
1_BIOS
select optimum defaults
Set memory to XMP (profile 1) to get 1600mhz memory speed
VT-d set to disable
Save & Exit
That really was all!!
2_Followed UniBeast: Install OS X El Capitan on Any Supported Intel-based PC guide
Install done with 8gb ram in slot 1
GeForce card removed - used onboard graphics
Made UniBeast installer on a 16gb Sandisk USB2 stick
Booted from rear USB2 socket (remembered issues on last build)
Into installer - Disk Utility - Erase/format the SSD
Install El Capitan to SSD
3_Post install
Boot from USB again, at boot loader screen chose the SSD/OS X
Finish OS X setup
Run MultiBeast
Settings:
Quick start UEFI Boot Mode
Audio > Realtek ALC892 and HD 4600 HDMI Audio
Disk > 3rd party SATA
Misc > FAKE SMC with plugins & HWmonitor app
Network > RealtekRTL8111 v2.10d1
USB > 7/8/9 series
Bootloaders > Clover UEFI
Defininitions > Mac Pro 3,1
Installed & shut down
4_remove USB
5_Normal startup = fine!!
download & install nVidia drivers
6_shutdown & insert graphics card (& remember to move monitor cable over !!)
7_Done - time for a beer!
Very pleased with result.
Only found issues/questions:
Only my second build - so any advice/improvements/tips gratefully received!

Only found issues/questions:
- If mac goes to sleep fully, on awaken the sound is lost.
- Not sure if I have the best system definition?
- Haven't test if USB3 is working (any easy checks? or just time a file transfer?!)
- Not sure about the TRIM on SSD. No option in MultiBeast anymore. Read some differing views about it. Think I will try the Terminal code route.
Only my second build - so any advice/improvements/tips gratefully received!
