Comments:

I purchased a new mobo, memory and processor to replace an existing Core2Quad system I had in place that I just had way too much trouble getting to work with TonyMac's instructions. (Could never seem to get MacAppstore, Facetime nor iCloud to work) so I just said screw it, and went out and got a current architecture system.

Everything works except USB 3 (not sure why?) and installation was a hell of a lot easier now. iCloud, FaceTime, and MacAppstore all work OOB. Performance is pretty much on-par to my previous Core2Quad system, but I'll be getting an i7 processor probably next month for epeen purposes and because I was pretty bent about having to upgrade in teh first place. LOL

I purchased and downloaded Lion from the Appstore after installing 10.6.8; was excited that it was finally letting me do it!. I then went through the process of upgrading afterwards.

REQUIRED KEXTS FROM MULTIBEAST:

USER DSDT (copied the DSDT from this site)
System Utils (of course)
ALC88X + AppleHDA rollback
Downloaded and installed l2mac's updated drivers for my onboard NIC (they work SUPER WELL)
64-bit boot option

Awesome. Got this board yesterday. Installing later today with the i5 2500k. Glad the new DSDT works well, looks like it should be a breeze.

Might try dual-booting Win 7 on same HD though... so that will probably screw me. Thanks for the post.

I have the same board as yours, but running an i7 2600. I also have the same Apple aluminum wired keyboard.

Are you having any issue with the keyboard not being recognized after you wake?

On my build, I have to use the power button to wake. If I wake from tapping the space bar. I have disconnect and reconnect the kb before it's recognized again.

UPDATES:

I replaced the Core i3 Processor with the Core i5-2500K because it was available for less than 50 dollars more than the i3 and because frankly, the i3's performance when running multiple applications at once was slow compared to my former core2quad processor. As a result, my new rig is running VERY nicely and EVERYTHING is a hell of a lot snappier.

It is not overclocked. I probably won't ever do this as I'm sure I"ll screw it up.

I have no issues with Sleep and while I did state I had some issues with USB 3.0, it seems that I'm now not experiencing the same problems I was earlier with it (not sure why, but some devices would show they were plugged into those ports but woudln't work -- ie my webcam).

Also, I went back to using a Microsoft ergo keyboard because thats what I'm used to, so no..I'm not experiencing the same issue as the person who replied with a keyboard question. I sleep with the menu command and I power back up by double-clicking the mouse. The power-back up is a bit slow but it works.

Julien,
Did you have any issue with upgrading the processor? just wondering as I've also ordered an i5 2500K to upgrade from the i3-2100.
I'm assuming this will work oob.
