Comments:
I purchased a new mobo, memory and processor to replace an existing Core2Quad system I had in place that I just had way too much trouble getting to work with TonyMac's instructions. (Could never seem to get MacAppstore, Facetime nor iCloud to work) so I just said screw it, and went out and got a current architecture system.
Everything works except USB 3 (not sure why?) and installation was a hell of a lot easier now. iCloud, FaceTime, and MacAppstore all work OOB. Performance is pretty much on-par to my previous Core2Quad system, but I'll be getting an i7 processor probably next month for epeen purposes and because I was pretty bent about having to upgrade in teh first place. LOL
I purchased and downloaded Lion from the Appstore after installing 10.6.8; was excited that it was finally letting me do it!. I then went through the process of upgrading afterwards.
REQUIRED KEXTS FROM MULTIBEAST:
USER DSDT (copied the DSDT from this site)
System Utils (of course)
ALC88X + AppleHDA rollback
Downloaded and installed l2mac's updated drivers for my onboard NIC (they work SUPER WELL)
64-bit boot option
