Dear All,
I post my setup and installation steps, hoping to help more persons to build a powerful Hackintosh.
Thanks for the post of several users, I follow to build my first Hackintosh. This guide would like to collect and improve all the information you can find on several posts.
As a Mac user since 1984, and having good knowledge of computer, it was really a challenge to build my first Hackintosh.
Installed OSX: Mavericks 10.9.4
All the hardwares below listed work perfectly: both graphic cards, firewire, audio outpus, USB2 and USB3, SATA, Blue Ray…
First of all the hardware:
MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 REV.1.1 BIOS VER. F7 19MARCH2014
CPU: Intel Core i7 4930K LGA 2011 @ 3.40GHz (6 core) CPUID 0x306E4
RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast, 4x8Gb, DDR3-2400, [email protected]
GRAPHIC CARD: Gigabyte GTX770 Windforce GV-N770OC-2GD, Nvidia Quadro 2000
HARD DISK: Samsung 840 Pro Basic 128Gb
1 x Kingston V300 120Gb
1 x Kingston V300 240Gb
2 x Seagate Desktop SSHD 2TB 7200RPM
CD/DVD: 2 x LG BH16NS, BlueRay/DV
WIFI: nothing
Bluetooth: nothing
Firewire: StarTech LSI 1394 OHCI PEX1394B3LP
COOLING: Corsair i110
PSU: Corsair RM Series RM1000 (1000W)
CASE: Corsair Carbide Air 540 Cube
LCD: LG Flatron 34UM95, 34" LED Ultrawide
LCD2: DELL U2412M 1920x1200
Hardware layout:
RAM: slots 1,2,3,4 : Kingston HyperX Beast
PCI layout:
PCIEX16_1: GTX770
PCIEX16_2: Quadro 2000
PCIEX8_2: Firewire card
SATA layout:
PORT0: Seagate Desktop SSHD 2TB 7200RPM
PORT1: Seagate Desktop SSHD 2TB 7200RPM
PORT2: LG BH16NS, BlueRay/DV
PORT3: LG BH16NS, BlueRay/DV
PORT 4 and 5 empty
PORT 6: 1 x Kingston V300 240Gb
PORT 7: empty
PORT 8: Samsung 840 Pro Basic 128Gb
PORT 9: 1 x Kingston V300 120Gb
Put together your Hackintosh with the previous layout.
Suggested BIOS setup (in my case this setup solved the OSX issue “slow motion”)
Board: REV.1.1 BIOS VER. F7 19MARCH2014
LOAD optimized default
INTEL Vt-d disabled
INTEL I/OAT disabled
BOOT Mode selection Legacy Only
LAN PXE Boot Option ROM Disabled
Storage Boot Option Control Legacy Only
Serial Port A disabled
For the moment keep default values for frequency, memory…
