Comments:

Wanted to build a M-ITX PC, yet didn't love the Apex case on the Custom Mac Mini 2011 build. That's why I went with the Silverstone due to more available space and a better power supply. Went with the 2500k in order to use HD3000 and have the option to over clock.

Now, many have been asking about this motherboard, the Z68M-ITX. My initial plan was to go with the Gigabyte board recommended on the Custo Mini build. However, those were not available online. After much pondering, decided to go with this motherboard and test it out. After several hours of trial and error, I got it to work.

Note:

In order to get USB install to boot, had to use the following code:

USBBusFix=Yes EHCIaquire=Yes [Optionally you can add 'UHCIreset=Yes

Just start typing it on boot= on the boot loader for USB install.

Multibeast: Attached Images for configuration.

For HDMI Audio:

1. Download DSDT Editor.

2.Download my DSDT file dsdt3.dsl.

3. Open DSDT file

4. Compile it.

5. Install it (don't click /Extra)

6. Reboot.

7. Follow this guide for final touches:

I wasted 2-3 days on getting that DSDT file to work correctly. After a month or so, I reinstalled everything using this guide, including HDMI Audio fix. It worked quickly. Let me know how it goes for you guys.

Re: ASRock Z68M-ITX+i5 2500k+ Silverstone SG05B

If anyone can link me the proper way to get HDMI audio to work with my specific build, I would be thankful.

The forum section Post Installation > Audio > HDMI Audio is loaded with solutions to get HDMI audio working.

Posted there, let's see if anyone has any experience with this MoBo.

Hi, did you use dsdt at all? Do you need to use any bootflags after installing chimera? The motherboard sound cool, I think I'm going to go for this one, maybe with a core i7!

Ps. Does it really have a remote? Does it work??

Haven't used DSDT. I'm using it right now to make HDMI Audio work. As for boot flags, I posted the one I had to use for the USB install to work. Only boot flag I had to use is USBLegacyOff=Yes but that is more hardware dependent, so it may not happen to you.

Also the output is through HDMI to a receiver which then has an HDMI output to my Sharp LCD. Video works great at 1360x768 resolution. Again, still working with HDMI audio, but I'm sure optical cable would work.

Hi, have you been able to get everything to work? Do you mind updating the guide? :D

Everything works on my side. I updated the guide with HDMI Audio fix/DSDT.
