Hi,
I would like to report that I was successfully able to install Mac OS Big Sur on the MSI GF65 9SEXR.
Specs
- CPU: Core i7-9750H
- GPU: Intel UHD 630 / Nvidia RTX 2060
- Chipset: HM370
- RAM: 16GB
What works
- Bluetooth
- Wifi
- Sleep (Almost, Insta-wake if USB ports are in use. Will update later)
- USB
- Ethernet
- Sound
- Graphics Acceleration (UHD 630)
What doesn't work
- HDMI Port
- You tell me
What was hard:
1. Getting past IOConsoleUser gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0.
2. Blackscreen: There were no real blackscreen, but it looked just like. The screen would go full black but after 3-4 minutes would turn back on. That's when I figured out it was the below zero brightness bug.
Use this video patch to get things sorted out. The recommended ig-platform-id wasn't working with this laptop.
Code:
<key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key>
<dict>
<key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key>
<data>AACbPg==</data>
<key>enable-backlight-registers-fix</key>
<data>AQAAAA==</data>
<key>framebuffer-patch-enable</key>
<data>AQAAAA==</data>
</dict>
</dict>
