Hey everyone!
It's been a while, but I am back and ready to rebuild
My last build here went great and is working without a hitch but I'm off onto bigger and better things.
I am building a semi-professional home studio and will need a monster to run it.
My last build was a 2600K Mac Pro. I want to jump up to Ivy Bridge... This is what I'm thinking...
Intel Core i7-3770K
GA-Z77X-UP5-TH
Corsair Obsidian Series 650D
Rosewill LIGHTNING 1000W
Intel BXRTS2011LC Water cooler
G.SKILL 32GB F3-2133C9Q-32GXH
OCZ VERTEX 256GB SSD (VTX4-25SAT3-256G) "System"
OCZ VERTEX 256GB SSD (VTX4-25SAT3-256G) "Working"
3TB Seagate HD (ST3000DM001) "Backup"
XFX 6870 or 7870 Video Card
I am planning on using the RME Fireface UFX (FW400) Audio Interface and Pro Tools 10
To the Dillema...
Although it's what I want... I don't know if a Hackintosh is the right way to go.
It is absolutely imperative that I have no "System Issues" or can't use this or that due to incompatibility.
But....I hate Windows and would much rather prefer a Mac environment.
So what do you guys think?
Will this setup have Pro Tools 10/UFX Compatibility?
ie No issues we can't fix... or am I going to be running into problems like crazy?
A couple more questions I have...
what do you think for the Graphics Card (Ill be running 3-4 Monitors)?
Would Lion or Mountain Lion Be better?
and last but not least...Does the GA-Z77X-UP5-TH support memory oc for that type of ram? Doesn't look like it... Wierd.
Holy Crap!
Thanks Guys!
I look forward to hearing from you!
