Stuck at "SATA Warning Enable Drive PHY PM Failed"

I have had Mojave working fine on my rig for ages now. Tried to update yesterday to Catalina, but the first reboot gets stuck at SATA Warning Enable Drive PHY PM Failed.
Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this?

My system is a Asus P9X79 Pro with an I7-3930K processor
