Hi there -

I followed this guide and this guide because I have the same motherboard and manage to get to the installer for El Capitan but when I go to Disk Utility my SSD drive is not detected... it only has my unibeast USB drive listed so I can't install.

These are my BIOS settings (version 0401):

VT-d setting: Disabled
CFG-Lock: Disabled
Launch CSM: Disabled
OS Type: Set to Other OS
XHCI Handoff: Enabled
Fast Boot: Disabled
Primary Display: PCIE
IOAPIC 24-119 Entries: Disabled
Ai Overclock Tuner: XMP (XMP Profile for my memory).

I set up OSX on my old system pretty handily back in the day but this time it's got me tearing my hair out - it only detects USB drives and no HDD or SSD drives are detected. I've looked everywhere for a solution in other threads. Anyone got any ideas?

In case anyone's wondering my bios is set to AHCI.

I found this thread on ******, which suggests connecting the SSD to a sata to USB adapter to install OSX to the destination drive first externally and then adding a kext to have it recognised. Anyone know about this method?
