Comments

Followed the iBoot + MultiBeast installation tutorial to a T and didn't run into any problems. At step 3 I did go ahead and use the Sandy Bridge guide to update to 10.6.8 and then ran Multibeast after rebooting.

I didn't select any Network kexts in Multibeast because the added NIC works out of the box (source).

Notes
  • DSDT used was F11 (link). However, I later realized my mobo BIOS is F5, but I haven't had any problems...[/*:m:18hmk41l]
  • Sleep/wake works.[/*:m:18hmk41l]
  • No kernel panics thus far.[/*:m:18hmk41l]
  • I have only used the top DVI port on the 6850.[/*:m:18hmk41l]
  • The second HDD was for a separate installation of Windows 7. I left it disconnected for the installation of OS X.[/*:m:18hmk41l]

* There were two minor issues with the Antec case:
  1. The rear exhaust fan has a 3-pin cable too short to reach the motherboard.[/*:m:18hmk41l]
  2. The mobo does not have a USB 3.0 header port for the front ports.[/*:m:18hmk41l]

However, I sent a quick and simple email to Antec support and they are sending an extension cable and USB 3.0 to 2.0 header adapter for free :]

Nice build. I'm working on my first build, I'm considering the Antec Three Hundred Two case as well. Would you recommend this case? I'm also considering the Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid Tower.

So far purchased:

Intel i7 2600k
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Z68
XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870

Crucial 128 GB M4 SSD
Intel BXRTS2011LC Liquid-cooled Cooling Fan/Water Block

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2133 SDRAM (as soon as I receive the $20 giftcard from newegg for OCZ 750W purchase)
