[SOLVED]Z97x-ud5h-bk Ethernet/ internet not working?

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction .....

Setup:
z97x-ud5h-bk
i7 4790k
8gb ballistix mem in 1 slot
ga gtx740x
evo pro 256gb ssd

bios f6

heres what happens:
install mavericks using unibeast having optimised defaults, vt-d etc.
restart after installation on ssd in safe mode -x
complete the installation questions, country setting etc.
when it asks how I'm connected to Internet I choose the Ethernet option.
I have a cable from my hac into my AirPort Extreme router that is internet connected.
at this point the installation fails to find internet, but I carry on anyway
Installation completes
go back into bios - disable onboard graphics
reboot - everything fine
run multibeast- after successful installation, reboots perfectly

but ......

no internet ???!?!?

im sure I'm doing something really stupid, but I've tried several installs and have not got anywhere - so any help would be awesome

Your motherboard has two Ethernet ports (Lan1 and Lan2). Lan2 is Intel based and should work using
MultiBeast Drivers > Network > Intel > ApleIntelE1000e v3.0.4. The Lan2 port is next to the USB3.0/HDMI port stack.

I feel SUCH A SPANNER !!! Yes - internet now works now I'm plugged into lan2 thank you very much Neil

ok next think to fix is no sound from hdmi from graphics card - but before I ask for help again - I better try everything first ;-)
