I have 2 LG 4K monitors connected to the DisplayPorts and 1 LG 4K smart TV connected to the HDMI port on Sapphire RX 580 card (HDMI Port 1, non ARC on TV's end). The 2 monitors on DisplayPorts work normally, but I always get a black screen (no signal detected) on the TV. As you can see from the photo below, the monitors and the TV are all detected by the OS, just no signal detected by the TV.

I tried blocking WhateverGreen, RX 580 SSDT used on @CaseyJ’s build and even switching to other HDMI cables, still no luck. on Windows 10, all 3 screens work properly.

I am running OpenCore 0.5.7 based on Dortania’s excellent guide (dortania.github.io) and using Lilu.kext v 1.4.3 and WhateverGreen.kext v1.3.8 with agdpmod=pikera shikigva=80 and -cdfon boot arguments.

Can anyone point out what I am doing wrong?

[Update]: Problem solved by @pastrychef. Just needed to lower refresh rate to 30Hz or 50Hz on System Preferences - Displays. See post #9 below.

Did you tried all the hdmi ports of your gpu and tv?

Try to unplug one display port from your gpu and let the hdmi in.

On your tv you should select computer mode for the hdmi.

Try with SMBios iMacPro 1.1 and agdpmod=pikera

Yes. No luck. However, I get signal for a second or so, and then it's gone again.

I will try this and report back.

On your tv you should select computer mode for the hdmi.
The only setting I can change for HDMI on the LG TV is the HDR color setting. I tried changing it and still no signal.

Try with SMBios iMacPro 1.1 and agdpmod=pikera
Do I need to change the serial number and hardware UUID for this to work?

Thanks.

It looks like macOS sees all three displays and it's just your TV not getting a signal. Try lowering refresh to 30Hz and see if it works.

HDMI has never really worked well for me. Use DisplayPort whenever possible. If you must use HDMI, make sure the cable is very high quality.

How do I lower refresh rate to 30Hz on Catalina? I just checked when booted to Windows 10 earlier that native resolution is 4096 x 2160 not 3084 x 2160. What is confusing to me is that the same cable works for Windows 10 but not for macOS!

Yeah, HDMI works fine for me in Windows too. But once I try to boot in to macOS, I get problems. Same cable.

Go to System Preference > Displays. Hold the Option key and click on the "Scaled" radio button. Check the box that says "Show low resolution modes".

I confirm that it works with lower 30Hz or 50Hz refresh rate.

Thanks for your help.
