Is that it to remove the driver? Only the preference panes removal is needed?

Try t locate it and move it to trash.
It should be in one of the following places:
Your disc/System/Library/PreferencePanes
or
Your disc/Library/PreferencePanes
or
Home user folder/Library/PreferencePanes

no, it's only remove the pref.pane menu, if you want to remove the driver, try to manually remove the VoodooHDA.kext from ~/Extensions folder then rebuild the kext cache.

theres nothing in my preference pane but it still shows up...anything help? i have no kext files either

So on my quest to build a fully functional hackintosh I installed VoodooHDA to try and get my audio going. It didn't work and I subsequently found a kext specifically for my motherboard. Audio works perfectly now but I'm left with the VoodooHDA icon in my System Preferences windows.

It's not essential, but is there anyway to remove it?

I've tried right clicking on it but nothing.

Any suggestions as to how it might be removed?

Hello, sorry to bother, but I don't have any audio device and you said you "found a kext specifically for my motherboard", can you please let me know how you did it, and how you fixed it, please? Thank you very much.
