First, thanks for this elitbook install guide. Rehab man is a rock star! I prefer this to probook installer because I have a better understanding of what's going on. Most everything is working well after a few tweaks, but I could find no reference to:
Problem: After Installation, I ran Geekbench 3 along with Intel Power Gadget and I noticed IPG showed I was hitting up to 3.4GHZ. The processor is rated at 2.9GHZ. The temps peaking at 90 degrees. The benchmark high at 6900. (debug info attached)
Sidebar: This may not be related, but, I have an Identical laptop with an i5 3360M 2.8GHZ. It's been a work horse for three years. It has El Capitan 11.3. and geek bench 3 reported 6400. So, I tried the above SSD from the i7 in the i5. It worked same as in the i7 HP including running the CPU at 3.3-3.4GHZ instead of 2.8. However, the temp never went over 80. I returned the i5 SSD back back to the i5 HP and it still runs the CPU overclocked and the Geekbench is 6680! hmmm.
Build Procedure for i7 2570p
1. Cloned SSD from working i5 2570p El Capitan 3.
2. Installed clover 4558 onto USB thumb drive using instructions from http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...de-booting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover.html
3. Replaced contents of EFI partition on i7 SSD with contents of EFI partition from install USB thumb drive.
4. completed installation from https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...book-zbook-using-clover-uefi-hotpatch.232948/
5. Replaced SMBios portion of config.plist with "dummy" config.plist SMBios info created with Clover Configurator.
6. Rebuilt caches, restarted several times.
the reason for a second 2570p is that I live in Jakarta and parts are hard to come by.
