hello first time posting, first time building, I went by the book even in the hardware reccomended, my 2008 mac pro is dead.
here is what built
Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Ultra Gaming
Core i7-7700K
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (16GB)
Corsair RM 750x Watt
TP-Link Archer T9E 802.11AC AC1900
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC Black
I also made the installer from a new mac, here's where i'm stuck
i can't see the installer. I've tried everything i've read so I'm hoping someone did this same install can help me, i'm exausted.

(sorry for the upside down)

I'm also experiencing the same issue. My hackintosh drive is working fine but I want to do a fresh installation. The issue is once I created my Unibeast drive and boot off of it, I can see my hackintosh High Sierra drive but nothing from the Unibeast drive.

If I boot back into my hackintosh and plug in my unibeast drive, I can see the Install High Sierra file on it so I'm not too sure whats going on.

Thanks BreBo! I've tried your suggestion and it sees the installer! installation begins, I choose language and it goes to disk utility I erase hard drive and then nothing happens...

  • Once you had Erased the disk what was your next input on the Display screen?
  • Nothing will happen automatically after you start the erase process except the successful conclusion with a name you have typed to call the erased Target disk.

  • After that you need to exit that screen and go back to macOS Utilities Menu and choose your next step ....

Those who are starting a new Installation of a new Version of macOS would be better off using their Cameras to to take screen shots to document what transpires on their Monitor Screens for their own records as well as for uploading to the Forum to adequately explain their message for help.

I have seen posts like 'nothing happens' even after a computer activity occurred and monitor screen had displayed an output - some times a "successful" message and sometimes an "error" message!

I hope the following images could be helpful to know what to expect after proper input following Hard Disk Erase in Disutility and what precedes that.

Put the kext for your network interface into /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other on the EFI partition of your USB installer.

I don't know what the correct Kext is, I suppose its IntelMausiEthernet, since Gigabyte book says the chip is Intel GbE LAN, regardless I added this one and I get the same message "the recovery server cannot be contacted".
I know I'm connected to the internet, I can browse.

you're right, sorry. I tested, I am connected to the internet, browsed around with safari, after trying several times I still get "The recovery server cannot be contacted"
