[SOLVED] Need advice running ATI HD5770 Vapor-X

Hi guys, one more issue on my Hackintosh.

I need that my frammebuffer recognizes my card correctly, to my DVD Player and Adobe Affter Effects works.

My Card is show as ATI Radeon HD5000 on About This Mac, and trying AtiConfig=<framebuffer> does not solves the issue.

I put my bios dump (take from GPU_Z on Windows) on /Extra Folder, named as 1002_68b8.rom and put UseAtiROM=Yes on org.chamaleon.boot.plist but this way my mac does not boot - Only gives me a black screen just after chamaleon menu.

Mine shows up in about this mac as an ATI 5000 series - it doesn't show as specifically an HD5770

Okay, you card has no specific framebuffer loaded, only a generic one. You can see that, because it says ATY, ATY. Usually it's ATY, Framebuffer-name.

Here are a couple of more questions.

1) why are you using ATIRom? (5770 should be supported oob)
2) do you have Chimera installed (with graphics enaber = yes)?
3) are you using AtiConfig?

To try to load a specific frambuffer you use ATIConfig=framebuffer with Graphicsenabler=Yes (AtiConfig=Bulrushes ,for example)

You can always check if it loads the buffer, with ioreg as above.

For another example for a working card and outputs see also the link for the 6850 in my sig, just in case.

AtiConfig=Dukweed

Without success. Apears that framebuffer does not change.
About the UseAtiROM, it was only a try, but it does not work.

It's Duckweed, but I assume that's just a typo ; p

Try AtiConfig=Bulrushes for a framebuffer, please.

Also try to boot with npci=0x2000 istead, please.

You can additionally rebuild all caches on you machine with either MB or Onyx from my sig, but I don't really think that's it (last straw).

Edit: IMPORTANT what machine personality have you installed? Macpro or imac or...??
