Hi there... I've got a HP ProBook 440 G5 Notebook PC, Intel Core i7 8550U, 8 GB DDR4, SSD 256 GB, and I can't reach any satisfactory result installing high sierra.
I followed for many days some guides in this forum, it seems simple but there is a lot of things that still doesn't work.

This guide
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...book-zbook-using-clover-uefi-hotpatch.232948/

and this one
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-hp-probook-430-g3-skylake-high-sierra.228113/

seems to be simple but, using an usb drive created by clover I can only reach the apple logo booting the installer, and the logo is not centered... and no other activity...

Creating the usb drive with UniBeast I can easily install High Sierra, and (with some little difficult) it can start independently, but I have no graphics driver, no built-in keyboard and trackpad, no audio, no wifi, no bluetooth, no battery support... only usb (where I can plug a keyboard) and ethernet is working fine.

I am a newbye on hackintosh machine, so I'm sorry if my questions seems stupid. I'm spending a lot of time around this laptop and I'll be very happy if I can replace my old (2010) MacBook Pro.

Many thanks in advance

unibeast is mainly for desktops

the clover guide linked above is for laptops, also as you have a probook, then the guide should be followed as is
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...book-zbook-using-clover-uefi-hotpatch.232948/

if you have any issues, then upload your problem reporting files

Ok. This guide links to
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/
and where it says to download fakesmc and VoodooPS2Controller kexts, I have source code... I open they in xcode and build... so have I to codesign the build or simply take the kext and use it?

This guide is pure GOLD! It works... I have only to search audio, wifi, bluetooth, battery status. Thanks for your suggestion.

Another little question: where can I search for the missing kexts?

from post 1 of the guide you followed:

What works

I have tested the following features:
- UEFI booting via Clover
- built-in keyboard (with special function keys)
- built-in trackpad (basic gestures)
- HDMI video/audio with hotplug (not on Kaby Lake)
- AirPlay mirroring to AppleTV
- WiFi, provided you have compatible hardware
- Bluetooth (with handoff) using BCM94352HMB
- native USB3 with AppleUSBXHCI (USB2 works also) (except 10.11 with 6-series laptops with NEC/Renesas)
- native audio with AppleHDA, including headphone
- built-in mic
- built-in camera (if you are lucky)
- native power management
- battery status
- backlight controls with smooth transitions, save/restore across restart
- accelerated graphics
- wired Ethernet
- Mac App Store working
- Messages/FaceTime (working on 10.10.3 even though I didn't run through the guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/110471-how-fix-imessage.html)
- laptops with JMicron card reader work (ProBook/EliteBook 6-series and 7-series laptops)

It sounds like you didn't follow the post-install instructions in the guide.
Must read carefully.

Sorry... it's true. Following the guide step by step is the best way to have a good result. My ProBook G5 works perfectly now.
Thanks for your help!

Hi, I found a 440 G5 with 8250u cpu on a good price and if I buy it I'm gonna turn it into hackintosh. Can you tell me what it's not working on your laptop? Did you replace the wifi to be compatible in MacOs?
