I wanted to de-overclock my high sierra hackintosh (GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3) to see if that would help with the periodic fatal system freezes I've been seeing. When I went into the BIOS, it asked me for a password. I don't remember setting a password. So I pulled the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS.

Now I can't get it to boot. I either get stuck after "[pci configuration begin]" or "HID: LE". Or this last time it stopped at "FakeSMC v6.21-31" and then a white cursor rectangle right after the "31".

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just ordered a 4K monitor to use with it, and it'll be here this week. :(

Could it be from lowering the CPU multiplier?

SOLVED: I created a bootable thumb drive with Clover on it. With that drive's EFI partition I was able to boot from my normal boot disk. I determined that I needed to drop MATS in the ACPI section of config.plist, and needed the OsxAptio2FixDrv driver. Copied the config.plist from the thumb drive EFI partition to my boot drive's EFI partition. All better now.
