Posts moved from build thread to Graphics.
What version of OS X El Capitan are you running? have you installed the alternate web drivers?
What monitor and cable have you got connected to your graphics card?

Also, what is the specific make and model of 970 you are using?

i'm using a asus strix 970 G1 4GB GDDR5, it is connected to my monitor with an hdmi, i'm on os x 10.11.5 with his web driver

I have never seen a 970 mis-identified as a 960 before, it is like it has the wrong device ID. Can you please post your config.plist?

Try using your config.plist that I've slimmed down, you had a lot of fixes that are not needed for your system, I've left in Skylake Intel Accelerator, not sure what it does maybe it was used before initial support.
config.plist attached.
